Delta System Outage Halts Domestic Flights Nationwide

Technical issues within the Delta Air Lines computer system caused a nationwide hold on all domestic flights for more than an hour on Tuesday.

Many customers reported being unable to view their boarding pass or check the status of their flights.

The airline posted a statement on their website saying, “Delta IT teams are working diligently to address a technology issue impacting some of our systems. We have issued a Delta ground stop as we work to bring systems back up as quickly as possible. There has been no disruption or safety issue with any Delta flight currently in the air. We apologize to all customers for this inconvenience. “

The company also confirmed the outage was only affecting flights within the nation that were still grounded, and all international flights and those currently in the air were unaffected.

It isn’t clear how many, if any, flights were canceled from the glitch, but many airlines/delta-passenger-head-butts-flight-attendant-mid-air.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>passengers were stuck biding time in airport lobbies while hoping the ground stop would be lifted soon.

At 9:18 p.m., Delta released the following statement, confirming the issue had been resolved.

“Delta teams have restored all IT systems after a technology issue briefly affected some of our systems this evening. All ground stops have been lifted”

While flights may currently be behind schedule, it appears the airline’s operations are back to normal now.
