A Delta Air Lines passenger who attempted to storm the cockpit of a flight en route to New York from Puerto Rico this week was detained by crew members, reports AP. The incident, which is under investigation by the FBI, occurred on-board Delta Air Lines Flight 579 on Wednesday.

The passenger involved in the incident has been named as Carlos Ramírez Rodríguez, who is reported to have shouted, “I am God. Tomorrow San Juan is going to disappear. I came to save the world, and I’m going to end terrorism.”

It was originally reported that the flight’s pilot had detained the 30-year-old, who is said to have become aggressive during the course of the journey.

Due to the incident, the plane – which was carrying over 160 passengers as well as six members of crew – was forced to return to Puerto Rico before eventually departing again for New York.

Little detail has been given by the FBI, but the carrier has offered an official statement on the incident, saying, “Delta applauds the quick action and professionalism of the crew.”
