ABOUT DR. KENT INGLE

Dr. Kent Ingle serves as the president of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. He is the founder of the Forum at SEU which focuses on Leadership: https://www.seu.edu/blog/seu-2018-leadership-forum/.  Under his leadership, the university has made tremendous strides. Over the last five years, the university has doubled its endowment, doubled the student body and added more than $80 million in new facilities.  During Ingle’s tenure, SEU has seen significant change. SEU has successfully implemented a shared governance model, added dozens of new academic and athletic programs and has been recognized by the Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the fastest growing private nonprofit baccalaureate institutions in the country.  He became SEU’s president in 2011.  Prior to becoming President, Ingle spent 10 years as a television sports anchor for NBC and CBS. He started as an anchor at the age of 18 in Bakersfield, California, and finished his career in Los Angeles. He covered many professional sports teams and interviewed hundreds of notable people in the professional sports world, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pete Rose, Muhammad Ali and Carl Lewis.  He also founded the American Center for Political Leadership and hired Congressman Dennis Ross to lead it.
