A power issue that impacted fuel supply at a major airport in England was resolved early Monday morning, but not before causing flight delays and cancellations Sunday.
According to BBC.com, engineers at Manchester Airport were notified that fuel pumps were not working, forcing flights preparing for takeoff to remain on the tarmac for hours before finally returning to the gate.
On Sunday, there were a total of 87 flights canceled at the English airport, with 42 being arrivals and 45 being departures. A spokesperson for the airport revealed the issue had been found and remedied by 3 a.m. local time Monday.

While airport officials said the majority of scheduled flights would operate as planned, a small number of flights are expected to be delayed or canceled throughout Monday.
Passengers are being asked to call their airline before heading to the Manchester facility to make sure their journey is operating without interruption.
