Streaker Runs on Runaway, Causes Airport to Temporarily Shut Down

Travelers and staff at Florence Regional Airport received quite a surprise on Sunday–one they never saw coming.

According to Major Michael Nunn, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office was called out to the Florence Regional Airport after 12 p.m. when airlines/passenger-strips-naked-on-air-india-flight.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>an unclothed woman ran onto the airport’s runway.

She sprinted across the runway and then into a wooded area near the airport.

Florence Regional Airport was temporarily shut down due to the incident.

Deputies arrived on the scene and sent a tracking team into the woods. The naked woman was found shortly after and taken to a local hospital for evaluation. She was unclothed in 50-degree weather.

The motives behind her actions have not been released.

Nunn told WMBF News that he doesn’t expect any charges filed against the woman.

Florence Regional Airport has reopened and continued their service after the bizarre incident, but before reopening, they apparently put some travelers on a party bus, according to an Instagram post.
