Police have issued an all-clear notice at a Florida airport after a suspicious package was found Sunday night.
According to Fox13 News.com, the Broward Sheriff’s Office revealed the suspicious package was discovered outside Terminal 4 in a rental car at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at just after 6:30 p.m. local time.

As a result, police shut down the roads around the Fort Lauderdale airport and the bomb squad was called to the scene. By around 10 p.m., officials announced the bomb squad and deputies had deemed the package safe.

While normal operations resumed and the roadways were once again open a short time later, officials from Fort Lauderdale airport said flight delays were to be expected. Travelers were advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight information.
Investigative journalist Laura Loomer reported the suspicious package was actually a box marked “provisional ballot box,” and it was found in a car last driven by a Broward County employee.
