InterContinental Minneapolis – Saint Paul Airport Hotel Opens in Twin Cities

WHY IT RATES: The new IHG property takes the airport hotel experience to a new level with a luxury spa, three restaurants, and 30,000-square-feet of event space.—Mia Taylor, TravelPulse Senior Writer.

Located only 20 minutes from the downtowns of both Minneapolis and St. Paul, and just five minutes from the legendary Mall of America, the hotel is broadening boundaries in the Midwest and is the first and only property to be connected via sky bridge to MSP International Airport.

MORE Hotel & Resort

The new InterContinental property is part of IHG’s western push and overall growth across the portfolio that now offers 49 properties within the Americas.

The 291-room hotel eclipses the typical airport hotel experience, elevating it to one of seamless convenience and total luxury for travelers and local guests alike with onsite offerings including a luxury spa; 30,000 square-feet of flexible, state-of-the-art event space; and three signature dining experiences, including a penthouse-level observation bar.

Private Hideaways of Modern Design
The 12-story hotel features 291 beautifully appointed guest rooms: a combination of kings and double queens.

The in-room ambiance is reminiscent of a private hideaway with a modern design aesthetic featuring warm, neutral tones highlighted with stone and wood finishes and gold accents.

Honor bars are stocked with all the essentials, including a new custom-bottled, two-year-old wheated bourbon fashioned exclusively for the hotel by Minneapolis-based Tattersall Distilling, bringing local connections to the guestroom. Available in-room in 375ml bottles, the whiskey is perfect for a nightcap or unwinding at cocktail hour near the end of a busy day.

Crowning the hotel is the spacious 1,865 square-foot Wingspan Suite and the 1,383 square-foot Pinnacle Suite. Laid out on the 12th floor, both suites offer exquisite attention to detail with unsurpassed comforts and breathtaking views. Guests can look forward to a relaxed and peaceful hotel stay as the entire property has been expertly engineered to eliminate jet engine noise.

The InterContinental Minneapolis – St. Paul Airport further offers a world of conveniences for clientele. For travelers, a third-floor sky bridge connects directly to Concourse C in Terminal 1 – Lindbergh.

Styled with luxurious finishes and a living green wall, this TSA security checkpoint enables travelers to go directly to their gate from guestrooms, spa or any of the hotel restaurants. For local guests, the hotel offers a new dedicated roadway and valet parking or self-park options in a designated parking ramp. Restaurant and spa guests will receive parking validation for up to two hours.

Wine and Dine

Whether they are staying at the hotel, looking to meet a friend on a layover, or living in the area and hungry for a memorable night out, all guests will find something to relish at the InterContinental Minneapolis – St. Paul Airport restaurants.

On the lobby level is La Voya, a French Brasserie named with inspiration from the French Voyageurs who brought their culinary influences to Northern Minnesota. Open daily at 6 a.m., La Voya serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring traditional French dishes heightened with Minnesota influences.

Small plates include the house-smoked trout toast, crispy Panisse, foie gras, and smoked bone marrow. Entree options include signature Minnesota dishes such as wild rice served with roasted chicken, duck breast and Red Lake walleye. French favorites, including Parisian Gnocchi and Steak Au Poivre, round out the menu, creating a must-visit for guests and locals alike.

The social hub of the InterContinental is Bradstreet Craftshouse, a nationally renowned gaming hall-style restaurant that relocated to the property from its previous Lowry Hill address in Minneapolis.

Visitors enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and exceptional food selections served in a warm, inviting space with rich and comfortable finishes. Opening daily for happy hour, the bar’s menu is extensive including selections such as pastrami sandwiches, Bradstreet burgers, and dry-rub chicken wings.

The inviting space is akin to the billiard room of a lumber baron’s mansion, with guests able to engage in lively games of pool, shuffleboard or foosball until bar close. The restaurant is available to host private events, with space for 90 seated and 175 cocktail-style.

On the 12th-floor Penthouse level, Altitude Observation Bar showcases rare and breathtaking 180-degree views above airfields and park preserve, past the downtowns of the Twin Cities, and across the beautiful Mississippi River Valley. Reflective of its unique location, Altitude specializes in a rotating menu of light fare and wine and champagne flights inspired by the great destinations of the world.

The inaugural menu, for instance, offered guests a culinary journey through Rome while taking in the stunning views through floor-to-ceiling, soundproof windows. Open daily to the public, Altitude is also a versatile space sized to host private events with room to seat 150 people or host 300 people for a cocktail reception.

Elevating Relaxation

Locals and travelers alike will delight at the Elevations Spa. This luxurious spa offers the ultimate sanctuary for rest and renewal with an expertly curated menu of innovative beauty and relaxation experiences from wraps and scrubs to massages and facials, all customizable by skilled specialists to address each client’s unique needs.

The Tranquility Room beckons with relaxing loungers, a stone thermal pool, and steam room. An outdoor courtyard with a firepit is a perfect space to relax and renew. Workout gear and swimwear are available for those wishing to de-stress with a steam, spa treatment or time in the well-appointed fitness room. Spa fare is also served with selections such as granola and yogurt and smoked salmon with cucumber and crème Fraiche.

Meetings in Minneapolis-St. Paul

The hotel is an exceptional event destination with 19 function rooms and more than 32,400-square-feet of dynamic function space for corporate events, private meetings, and elegant wedding receptions.

Nearly all function space is conveniently accessible on the second floor. The elegant Passport Ballroom has nearly 10,600 square-feet beneath 18-foot ceilings, with room for 800 seated or 1,500 cocktail style. Each of 12 meeting rooms features high ceilings, natural light, and scenic views, including an executive-level boardroom that seats 20.

Whatever the space, luxury design, stunning original art, and state-of-the-art technology ensure memorable gatherings in a convenient location.

Room rates start at $289. Hotel, spa and restaurant reservations may be made online at InterContinentalMSP.com or by calling 612-725-0500.
