Silversea Cruises has ordered a new sister ship for its flagship Silver Muse. The new vessel, Silver Dawn, will be constructed by Fincantieri for a 2021 delivery date.

Silver Muse was launched from the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente (Genoa) in April 2017. The positive response to the ship led to the recent announcement of Silver Moon, a sister ship set for delivery by Fincantieri in 2020.

The new Silver Dawn will be the line’s third Muse-class vessel. She’ll join Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit, Silver Muse and expedition ships Silver Explorer, Silver Galapagos, Silver Discoverer and Silver Cloud.

“Following the extraordinary success of Silver Muse, we are delighted to announce Silver Dawn as the eleventh ship to join the Silversea fleet,” said Silversea Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio. “Silver Dawn will bear the same hallmarks of quality that guests currently enjoy on our 6-star ships. We look forward to welcoming guests aboard in November 2021. It was my father’s dream to grow Silversea to at least a 12-ship fleet; today, we are one step closer to fulfilling his vision”.

Shipbuilding group Fincantieri has built 82 cruise ships since 1990, 59 of them since 2002. Another 44 ships are currently in the design or construction phases in the group’s yards. It is headquartered in Trieste, Italy.
